RESTAURANTS
La
Scala — this is very good and reasonable, very close to Intermarche.
It looks like a pizza place but serves other dishes too. Highly recommended.
Hotel de Bordeaux — open seven days
a week, food is good and very reasonable,
with good atmosphere.
Macdonalds
near Le Clerc and Chinese is available in town near the
Post Office and tourist
office.
There are others that are good but more expensive, such as
L'Ardoise Gourmande, Au Fil des Saisons and the
Mirabel.
PLACES
TO VISIT & THINGS TO DO
Seaside:
La Tranche and Les
Sables d'Olonne are but two of many beaches.
La
Rochelle is a pretty port town with great aquarium to visit.
La
Roche sur Yon is worth a visit, as is Fontenay
le Comte with its chateau.
There are plenty of sports and
other activities, including golf, fishing, horse riding, boating and swimming,
either on the rolling Atlantic coast, or the beautiful canals of the Green
Venice. Close by there is the history theme park of Le
Puy de Fou.
If you are a wine drinker, you should visit the
local wine town of Mareuil sur Lay.
